Nigerians in the Diaspora and the international community gathered to celebrate The 55th Independence Anniversary  on October 3rd, 2015 at the Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta, GA. Guests were welcomed by Former Consul General Ambassador Geoffrey Teneilabe and his wife on the red carpet, followed by a night of entertainment, cocktail reception, and Nigerian dishes.

In his opening remarks, Former Consul General Amb. Teneilabe, highlighted Nigeria’s achievements, and commended the smooth transition of the Jonathan’s government to the newly elected office of President Mohammadu Buhari. He also, expressed optimism, despite the challenges facing the country, saying that he was hopeful of the new administration’s readiness to tackle issues of priority, urging the spirit of unity, and cooperation amongst Nigerians in the diaspora. Red carpet interview was hosted by Princess Asha, host of Lets Talk Africa.
