Further to our notice on our website www.nigeria-consulate-atl.org in respect of requirements for the issuance of passport, visa, etc applicants are henceforth advised to send to the Mission a self addressed and sufficiently stamped return enveloped preferably the United States Postal Service, which is inclusive of the tracking number. This is to obviate complaints arising from belated delivery of documents from the Mission.

Federal Government Approves N373bn for Massive Road Projects
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua approved the award of contracts worth N373,746,054,381.29 for the construction, rehabilitation and expansion of various roads across the six geo-political zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
A breakdown shows that for the 26 highway projects under the Zonal Intervention Projects (ZIPs), it approved N116,576,716,396.29 with various completion periods. Read More

NIGERIA IS AN INVESTMENT PARADISE - EUROPEAN UNION
The European Union (EU) has described Nigeria as an investment paradise, with the potential for a high return on all business investments.
A delegation, made up of two commissioners, Messrs Louis Michel and Andris Piebalgs, from the commission, said this during a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, in Abuja. The EU delegation described the country as one of the most endowed nations that was viable for all forms of investments. Read More

NIGERIA NOW ‘FRONTIER EMERGING MARKET’, SAYS IMF
Nigeria’s recent private sector-led growth and vibrant capital markets with potentials for investors have placed it in a league of eight sub-Saharan African countries (outside South Africa), heading towards emerging market status, a new International Monetary Fund (IMF) report has revealed. The country is now a “frontier emerging market”, according to the IMF – a position that will guarantee the Nigeria the emerging market status as soon as it matures. Also, Nigerian banks raised about $12 billion in capital over 2006-07 mostly from offshore investors, using a variety of investment vehicles, the report noted. Read More

GOVERNMENT RAISES PANELS ON VISION 2020
PRESIDENT Umaru Musa Yar'Adua inaugurated the National Council and the National Steering Committee on Vision 2020, saying that the event marks the beginning of a new dawn in Nigeria's development aspirations. The development came as the Speaker of the House of Representatives warned that the on-going battle against corruption must be won for the vision to be achieved. IN VIEW OF THE RECENT INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW E-PASSPORTS BY THE NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE, THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS HEREBY INFORMED THAT THE LIFE SPAN OF THE MRP PASSPORTS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO THREE YEARS EFFECTIVE FROM 25 TH JULY, 2007.
