GUIDELINES FOR THE EVACUATION OF STRANDED NIGERIAN NATIONALS FROM THE USA TO NIGERIA, IN WAKE OF THE CORONA VIRUS
(COVID 19) PANDEMIC

Further to the consulates notice Ref. No. CGN/At/ADM/106/IV of 4th April 2020, I am directed to bring to the attention of all stranded Nigerian nationals, who have indicated interest in the participation of the emergency evacuation by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the following initial set of guidelines for departure
                  
I.  That the Federal Government of Nigeria is in the process of finalizing adequate arrangements with the local airline(s) in Nigeria for the evacuation of stranded Nigerians from the United States;
               
II. That the evacuation exercise would be in batches and in different phases. Dates for departure would be conveyed as soon as received;
           
III. That all prospective evacuees are urged to secure and keep their travel documents ready,
            
IV.   All prospective evacuees would be responsible for the full payment of their one-way tickets to either Abuja or Lagos, as earlier indicated in the consulate’s notice of 4th April 2020. The exact amount per individual would be conveyed as soon as received;
               
V.   That each prospective evacuee on the flight would be expected to be tested for Covid-19 on arrival in Nigeria.
            
VI.  Prospective evacuees are reminded that they would undergo fourteen days mandatory quarantine on arrival in Nigeria at a location to be provided by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in either Abuja or Lagos as also captured in our notice of April 4, 2020; and
         
VII.   That prospective each evacuee is expected to pay for his/her quarantine/isolation/accommodation/ centre before arrival in Nigeria.

This is for information and guidance for all prospective Nigerian nationals desirous of participating in the evacuation exercise.
