Former Nigerian President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, accompanied by a delegation which includes, Amb. Teneilabe, Consulate General of Nigeria, Atlanta, and others, had a private meeting with US, former President, Mr. Jimmy Carter, on Thursday November 20, 2015 at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta. The purpose of the meeting was to harness ideas on his plans to establish an NGO for youth empowerment in Africa.
During the visit, he also, visited the King Center, Clark Atlanta University, the Presidential Precinct in Virginia, John Kennedy School of Government, and Howard University, where he shared his experience in office as a promoter of democracy and advocate of good governance in Africa.
His Excellency, Goodluck Jonathan served as president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2009 to 2015 and prior to that as vice-president from 2007 to 2009. He recently led an international observer team of the Commonwealth to the Tanzanian national elections, October 25 2015.
