THE Federal Executive Council (FEC) approved some of the recommendations of the Electoral Reforms Committee and rejected others.
Some of the recommendations accepted are that the funding of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should be from first line charge, that is from the federation accounts. (more…)

NIGERIA IS AN INVESTMENT PARADISE – EUROPEAN UNION
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009The European Union (EU) has described Nigeria as an investment paradise, with the potential for a high return on all business investments.
A delegation, made up of two commissioners, Messrs Louis Michel and Andris Piebalgs, from the commission, said this during a courtesy call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chief Ojo Maduekwe, in Abuja.
The EU delegation described the country as one of the most endowed nations that was viable for all forms of investments. (more…)

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009The President enjoys talking about Nigeria. His faith in his seven-point agenda was so deep the boundless excitement he exudes when explaining it was infectious. Like the teacher that he was, he wanted every point understood beyond his explanation. Facts and figure reeled off his memory. The result was an almost endless answer to some questions. His voice, though gentle, had a bell-like jingle to it that seemed to emphasise his authority on the subject of discussion. (more…)
