It is hereby notified for information of the general public that:
i) All Money Orders for official transactions must be submitted clearly and boldly marked/addressed to the Consulate-General of Nigeria, Atlanta and never left blank. Any act different from this is encouraging corruption and any such transaction shall not be honoured. It is the duty of members of the general public to report any one who instructs otherwise to the Consulate-General;
ii) It is disservice and dishonour for non- Nigerians and an unpatriotic act for Nigerians who pay additional fees different from those officially charged by the Consulate-General in unaddressed Money Orders to expedite issuance of Passports and Visas. The expedited visa service charge still remains as presented by the Consulate-General on its website. It must however be emphasized that there is no expedited services whatsoever for Passports, only for visas. The Consulate hereby warns that any detected case will be formally reported to our host authorities. It is not necessary to state the fate of any unscrupulous staff of the Consulate-General caught in this unconscionable behaviour;
iii) Members of the general public are strictly instructed to bring their self-addressed post-paid return envelopes where applicable for the return of their documents. It is hereby strongly adviced that no one should heed any directive from anyone in the Consulate to purchase return envelopes from within or outside the Consulate-General’s building. It bears restating again that this Consulate does not have any business dealings with regards to Immigration Services (Passports and Visas) with any individual(s) or business(es) outside of its premises;
iv) All cases of under-hand dealings and unnecessary and/or inexplicable delays in the Consulate’s services should be reported directly to the ;

b) Consul (Consular, Immigration
& Nigerian Organisations) and - Mr. A. A. Ogbe
c) Consul (Head of Chancery/
Information & Culture) - Mr.OreOlorun Akerele
2. For the avoidance of doubt:
i) Passports are issued within fourteen (14) working days
and;
ii) Visas are issued within five (5) working days on satisfactory consideration of application.
Fellow nationals and host nationals are enjoined to note this arrangement and align their transaction with the above schedule.
